Mike graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive in 1975, received his B.A. from Assumption College in 1979 and his J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in 1982 and has been in practice at Labrie and Pouliot since then.  He is a longtime Member of the Chicopee Bar Association, Hampden County Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association and Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association.

Coach Labrie has coached basketball and baseball for over 40 years, including 10 year stints at Aldenville Junior Athletic Club (AJAC) and the Granby Athletic Association (GAA.)  He served as head coach of the Aldenville American League team for 15 years and has coached varsity high school boys basketball since 1982; at Chicopee High School for 23 years, Springfield’s Central High for 7 years, and presently at his alma mater Chicopee Comprehensive for 3 years and counting, amassing nearly 500 victories and many league and regional titles, including the Western Mass. DI Championship at Chicopee High School in 1994 and the State Div. I Title at Central in 2012.

In the meantime, Attorney Labrie has served on numerous boards and volunteered thousands of hours to the community including: 40 years as a director/general counsel for the Alden Credit Union, Chicopee City Parks Commission 1985-1990, 10 years on the St. Rose de Lima Finance Council, Former Advisory Council and Steering Committee Member of the Chicopee Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge Counselor for 20 years.  He is also a longtime member of Tiger A.C., Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree Knight) and Chicopee Lodge of Elks 1849.

Mike has been the recipient of many community honors and awards, including the American Legion Baseball’s “Graduate of the Year” for service to the community, Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association’s Lifetime Achievement Statewide Award (1994), Chicopee Boys and Girls Club’s Victor Geoffrey Annual Citywide Award (1997), Western Mass. Basketball Officials’ Sportsmanship Award (2000), and Johnny Yee Foundation’s Chicopee Citizen of the Year Award (2009) as well as being an inaugural inductee to Chicopee High School Hall of Fame (2009) and an inductee to the New England Basketball’s Hall of Fame (Class of 2015).
